Bob Moog Foundation Launches 20/20 Fundraising Campaign to Celebrate Its 20th Anniversary

Foundation seeks 1,000 gifts of $20 to support the next chapter of its educational, museum and archival work

October 13, 2026 (Asheville, NC) — Twenty years after its founding, the Bob Moog Foundation is inviting supporters to help inspire the next generation of creative thinkers—one $20 gift at a time. Its 20/20 fundraising campaign aims to raise $20,000 through 1,000 gifts of $20—or larger contributions in $20 increments—to support the next chapter of Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, the Moogseum and the Bob Moog Foundation Archives.

Formally launched in 2006 by Bob Moog’s family and colleagues following his death in 2005, the independent nonprofit brings his legacy of curiosity and discovery to life through education, interactive experiences, and historical preservation.

Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, the foundation’s hallmark educational initiative, has inspired more than 40,000 second-graders through the science of sound, with over 400 trained teachers delivering more than 400,000 hands-on, multi-sensory lessons in the last decade. That spirit of discovery extends to the Moogseum in Asheville, North Carolina, where over 55,000 visitors from all over the world have explored the interactive story of Moog’s life and work. Alongside these opportunities for discovery, the Bob Moog Foundation Archives preserve more than 15,000 items—from schematics and instruments to recordings, photographs and correspondence —documenting Moog and the pioneers who shaped his legacy.

The 20/20 campaign celebrates what supporters have made possible over two decades and invites more people to help carry that work forward. Supporters do not have to be musicians, engineers or archivists to participate. They simply have to believe that inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers is worth investing in. Contributions are encouraged in increments of $20—whether $20, $40, $60, $80, $100 or more—with every gift helping make the Foundation’s ongoing work possible. Throughout the campaign, the Foundation will share fundraising progress with supporters as contributions bring it closer to its $20,000 goal.
